Our Services
Dental cleanings (scaling and root planing):
Your oral health is related to your overall general health. Regular dental cleanings are important for the maintenance of gums to reduce inflammation and the risk of developing dental diseases. Bacteria and calculus form above and below the gumline and can affect the health of your gums and bone. The calculus is hardened dental plaque that has calcified and will need to be removed by the dental hygienist. The dental hygienist will clean above and below your gumline to reduce the risk of dental disease.
Oral Cancer Screenings/Head & Neck Exams:
This is an exam your dental hygienist completes prior to your cleaning. They examine for lumps and bumps around head and neck tissues as well as soft and hard tissues of your mouth. These screenings can help detect early signs of oral, head and neck cancer. Early detection can help improve a client’s success for treatment in the future and create a better quality of life.
Dental X-rays:
These are images of your teeth that the dental hygienist takes to gather more information about your oral health. The x-rays provide a ton of useful information for the hygienist, such as your bone health, tartar, abnormalities, suspected caries, abscesses/infections, worn/fractured fillings and impacted teeth. This helps in providing a more comprehensive treatment plan. These digital x-rays not only reduce radiation exposure but can be shared with other dental professionals, thus limiting duplication of records.
